- Mental Health Therapist in Pittsburgh, providing therapy out of several churches
- Met his wife on their college cross country team; both were captains and the team's top runners; he finally won a conference title in one of his last races as a senior and she won her first conference title that day, too
- Was running Pittsburgh Marathon for place because he thought course was too hilly to OTQ. Then, with four miles to go, he heard his coach screaming.
